How to get the most out of ND dining in the least amount of time

Maybe you’re a freshman and your Intro to Engineering class only just got out at 6:20 p.m., plus you’re sandwiched between a 7 p.m. meeting and prepping for the first Gen Chem exam. Or maybe it’s a home game. Bundled with the tailgates and excitement comes with extra hungry parents and children in South Dining Hall–parents and children who don’t know right-right from left-left, that is. The point is, navigating SDH can be difficult, whether you’re new in town or a seasoned vet.

Now that I am semi-sagely junior (and without a meal plan), I am happy to share some of my favorite SDH hacks. You should be able to have those fajitas, or that Southwest salad, any day of the week! And you won’t even have to wait until 8:30pm for dinner either. The dining hall is stocked daily with all the necessary ingredients to recreate your student favorites. You just have to know where to look.
