Voting: “Vote or die!” Just kidding, but P. Diddy (is that still his name?) was right – this is a big deal. If you haven’t done so, get it done, by Tuesday, preferably. We’ll know the next President by the time you read this.

Missed Field goals: How we pulled that one out is beyond me, but a win is a win. And freshman, there’s certainly a time and place for storming the field, but scraping by unranked Pittsburgh in triple-overtime is not one of them. 9-0!

Nuclear accelerators: Deep in the bowels of Nieuwland, astrophysicists rejoiced as Fr. Jenkins dedicated and blessed Notre Dame’s new SU Pelletron nuclear particle accelerator. While this development is exciting, the fact that Fr. Jenkins blessed the machine  makes me wonder if this was done to ward off any diabolical plans –I’ve got my eye on you, astrophysicists.

Superstorm Sandy: I’m from the Gulf Coast, so I feel your pain, Northeasterners. Stay safe everyone, and keep those affected in your prayers.

Changing weather patterns: Wake up for 8 AM class. It’s black outside. There is frost covering the ground. The landscapers even mysteriously collected and “disposed” of all the fallen leaves, the only vestige of color left on this bleak campus. By the time you get out of dinner the sun has given up trying to break through the clouds and has called it a day (get it?). Only upside: these signs indicated that the annual campus snowball fight may be approaching.
